The Right Niche Makes All the Difference!

"The Right Niche Makes All the Difference!"

Since you’ve been following my journey on X, you know I started a faceless YouTube channel from scratch — and in just 45 days, it’s grown to 2.1K subscribers!

The right niche has been key to this rapid growth, helping me reach 220K views. And generating $854.23 in 11 days from ADS after monetization.

Hi,

I’m Faisal from @Faisal SEO!

Today I’m going to share my step-by-step niche research method for Faceless YouTube channel.

We will be starting with knowing “what criteria I follow to ensure this niche is going to work?” and then 7 methods to find a niche.

How Do You Know if a Niche Is Worth Starting?

Determining if a niche is profitable can vary for each person, but there are clear ways to assess whether your chosen niche has strong potential—especially for a faceless channel

1. Seeing New and Small Channels

The first thing that can help you to determine if a niche worth starting is; small and new channels in that niche. Start by finding channels in your chosen niche with around 20-30K subscribers that are only 1-2 years old.

For example (Trip Insight) has 26K subscribers and was created on Jun 23, 2024.

If these smaller channels are consistently gaining traction, and  ranking in search results it’s a positive sign that the niche has demand.

Channels like this are proof that new content creators can succeed without needing a massive audience right away.

2. They Have High Performing Videos

When exploring these smaller channels, see if they have any viral videos uploaded recently or ones with unusually high views in recent months.

For example (Trip Insight) has 378K, 334K, and 307K views on his videos that they uploaded just a month ago.

Viral content is an indicator that the audience in this niche is active and engaged, and it signals that there’s potential for content to gain traction quickly.

Viral videos show that the content has widespread appeal and can easily attract viewers, which is especially important for a faceless channel.

3. Recent Growth

You can use a tool like SocialBlade to check these channels' growth over the past few months. If you notice steady growth—especially for new channels—that’s a strong indicator of ongoing demand in the niche.

Niche trends can change quickly, so focusing on recent growth shows that your topic is relevant now and may continue to attract viewers in the future.

4. Content Format

Examine the format that these successful channels use. Are they using voice overs, animations, text on the screen, or stock footage?

Like you can see the Trip Insight videos; they’re using AI voiceover, Stock Footages AI script…

If you find that channels in your niche can perform well without showing a face, it’s a good sign that a faceless format will work.

This format flexibility allows you to keep production simple, which can be a huge advantage if you’re aiming to keep costs and time low.

⚠️Before We Start!

Ensure to install the VidIQ chrome extension, it will help you to check out the Subscribers count of each channel on the search page without opening the channel. And a few related topic suggestions that you can use to find more ideas.

How to Find a Faceless YouTube Niche?

These are 8 methods to find YouTube niche. The Last One Is MY FAVIOURITE!

1. Incognito Exploration

This method is about browsing YouTube in a “private” or “incognito” window to get a sense of the most popular, general videos without your personal watch history interfering.

You can use VPN/Proxy as well in the INCOGNITO mode; if you are doing the research from outside of your targeted country, and ensure you see the suggestion from the country you want to target.

Steps:

   - Open YouTube in an incognito or private browsing mode.

   - Open a new channel with no previous browsing data/history.

   - Scroll through the homepage and look for videos where no one is showing their face.

   - Identify themes or content types that could work for faceless channels (e.g., car videos with voiceovers, listicle videos on different topics).

   - Right-click and open interesting channels in a new tab. This way, you can save these channels and explore them further for content ideas.

This approach gives you access to popular topics on YouTube in a non-personalized way, which helps you find niche channels that appeal to broad audiences.

Using this method, you’ll see videos that work well across the platform, giving you fresh ideas for a faceless channel.

2. Search and Discover

Once you’ve selected a broader topic by using the incognito method, now it’s time to narrow down the idea and find sub niches within that border niche.

This is a targeted approach where you use specific keywords to narrow down niche ideas in your chosen area of interest.

Steps:

   - Use YouTube’s search bar to enter a general topic, such as “Business” or “Travel.”

  - Look at the search suggestions that appear (these suggestions indicate popular topics within your area).

   - Click on a few of these videos, watch briefly, then go back to the YouTube homepage. YouTube will start showing you more content related to your search.

   - Repeat this with other keywords related to your interests or trending topics. For example, searching “online business” or “top tech products” can help you find high-performing, faceless video ideas in specific areas.

Why It Works:

YouTube’s search algorithm quickly adapts to your recent searches and will start to show you similar channels and content, making it easy to find niche ideas and explore various popular faceless video formats.

3. Keyword Play

If you are an SEO person, You might already be using this method! This method is like a brainstorming exercise using YouTube’s autocomplete function to find specific niches within broad topics.

Steps:

  - As you have a general topic/keyword in your mind.

 - Type in a general keyword in the YouTube search bar (like “sports” or “makeup”).

 - Follow it with each letter of the alphabet (e.g., “sports a,” “sports b”). You’ll see YouTube’s autocomplete suggestions populate with phrases like “sports analysis” or “sports breakdown.”

  - Click on suggestions that look interesting and explore the resulting videos to identify faceless formats.

  - You might discover niche ideas like “sports trivia” or “makeup tips for beginners” that would make great faceless content.

Why It Works:

This approach helps you find unique sub-niches that are popular and highly searched but may not have too much competition, making it ideal for faceless channels looking to stand out.

4. Forums

One great way to find a profitable niche for your YouTube channel is to explore online communities, such as Reddit and Quora.

These platforms are filled with real questions and conversations about topics people are genuinely interested in, making them perfect for uncovering ideas that have an existing audience.

Start by searching subreddits and Quora spaces related to broad interests like tech, pets, personal finance, or DIY projects.

Look for popular posts, especially those that generate lots of comments, upvotes, or answers.

Posts that spark lengthy discussions usually address common questions or interests, indicating a topic people care about.

2. Analyze Common Questions and Problems

Pay attention to recurring questions or challenges. For instance, on a pet subreddit, people might frequently ask for dog training tips or solutions for dog anxiety. This shows there’s a strong interest in pets content—something you could dive into for a niche that appeals to dog owners.

Both Quora and Reddit have trending sections or “Most Viewed” topics. This is a good place to find fresh, popular content ideas that might not be fully tapped into on YouTube. You might find niche ideas with fewer competitors and a growing audience, giving you a head start.

5. Play with Filters

As we already have found a macro niche from the YouTube home feed by using the Incognito method, and YouTube search feature.

Now, you can use the YouTube filters to refine your results and ensure where there are creators that YouTube is promoting, and how many views are on new videos.

Steps:

-  Search your keyword in the YouTube search bar; for example; (crime story).

- Click on the “Filter” option from the top right corner.

- Check the video upload date (This Month), and (View Count) filters.

- Now you’ll find channels' latest videos with higher views count.

- Open top 10-15 channels and analyze each one-by-one.

6. Passion Pursuit

Using this method, you can only focus on niches that align with your own interests or hobbies. Passion-driven niches often lead to long-term success because you’re creating content on topics you enjoy and understand.

Steps:

- List down topics you’re genuinely interested in or have experience with. For example, if you love AI, check out faceless channels around AI trends, Top 10 tools, or AI tutorial.

- Search for those topics on YouTube and see what’s popular. Channels without a face (for example, using commentary, images, or graphics) indicate that the niche works well for faceless content.

- Check out the competition. If there are several channels doing well, it’s a sign that there’s interest and potential in that niche.

Why It Works:

When you choose a niche that matches your interests, creating content becomes easier and more enjoyable. Plus, you’ll have better insights into the audience’s needs, giving you an edge in content creation.

7. Bonus Method

If you are like me still don’t know which niche to choose, and don’t have broader topics in mind; you can use these two methods to find your First FACELESS YouTube channel Niche..

1. Using Medium / Reddit

- Go to the Medium website and from the right side panel select “Recommended Topics.”

- Here you’ll see a list of topics and subtopics that can be a complete channel created on it.

- You can pick one and then repeat the process we’ve discussed previously (search, find channels, and common topics).

2. Using ChatGPT / AI

Another effective approach is to use AI tools like ChatGPT for brainstorming niche ideas. Simply ask it for topics that work well for faceless YouTube channels, and it’ll quickly provide a list of options.

While these ideas can give you a great starting point, it’s essential to validate each suggestion through manual research, like checking competition levels and audience interest on YouTube, to ensure it’s truly viable.

8. Online Marketplace

This is my favorite method to find a niche for my Faceless YouTube channel. Because on the marketplaces people are sharing all of their channels stats to sell their channels on higher price.

Here you can find the complete channel details, from views, monetization methods, their content creation method.

If you are still looking for a profitable niche to start your first faceless channel, I will suggest you to look at marketplaces like Flippa, accs-market (Not Authentic IMO).

And Motion Invest also has started listing YouTube channel recently. But there are not too many listed right now.

Now I would like to hear from you!
